A story of future crime, policing, and technology
New York City in the year 2063: Multiple years of attrition and global pandemics have crippled the ranks of the New York Police Department. Crime is constant, unyielding, and ever changing. Only the few remaining officers and advances in technology can help stem the tide of lawlessness.
The Artificial Intelligence program named “CrimeScope” has become the premier law enforcement computer program in New York City and beyond. Its learning ability and analytic powers are unmatched.
Everything is tracked, processed, and analyzed by CrimeScope, including current crime stats and future prediction models of crime activity. Huge advancements have been made in crime solving as well as in police-citizen interactions thanks to the analysis and recommendations from CrimeScope.
The Japanese robotics company “DOA” is producing advanced androids specifically designed to work alongside human police officers. Their other android models are the industry leaders in robotics and have revolutionized and given hope to a war torn world.
NYPD Detective John Reynolds is assigned to the Android Training Program, responsible for the development and deployment of the advanced police androids that are paired up with human officers.
Detective Reynolds genuinely enjoys training and working with the androids. But one flaw, one bad line of computer coding, will soon send Reynolds on a dangerous adventure that challenges his ethics, his intelligence, and forces him to examine what it really means to be the police in an ever changing world.
